IU clinches inter-university handball title

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Feb 27 (UNB): The handball team of Islamic University in Kushtia emerged champions in the Inter-university Handball Tournament 2019 beating National University by 39-19 goals on Wednesday.
The final match of the tournament was held at the central football playground of the university around 12:00pm.
IU Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha handed over the champion's trophy as the chief guest in a prize giving ceremony. IU syndicate member Professor M Mahbubar Rahman, student advisor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman, assistant proctors Associate Professor Anisur Rahman and Assistant Professor M Sahed Ahmed and IU Physical Education department Director Mohammad Sohel, among others, witnessed the final match.
IU physical education department Assistant Director Mabila Rahman moderated the prize giving ceremony which was attended by over one thousand students of different departments.
Besides, Chittagong University secured the 3rd place defeating Shylet University of Science and Technology.
A total of 11 public universities participated in the tournament that started on February 23.
