July Revolution Fencing Championship begins

The July Revolution Fencing Championship has begun at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital on Friday, reports BSS.

Youth and Sports Secretary Mahbub Ahmed was the chief guest in the opening ceremony.

Major General (retd) Qamrul Islam, Bangladesh Fencing Federation (BFF) president, Bosunia M Ashikul Islam, general secretary, Shofiqur Rahman, executive member, and Kazi Ashikur Rahman, director of sponsor Rakson Motor Bikes Limited, were also present in the opening ceremony.

Nearly 175 men and women fencers from Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party, Border Guard Bangladesh, private universities and clubs are taking part in the three individual events of the two-day meet, organised by BFF.
