Litton Das went past Mushfiqur Rahim to create the new record of stumping by a Bangladesh wicket-keeper, reports BSS.
His feat came on Day 1 of the first cricket Test against Ireland at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday when he effected two stumpings.
Before the Ireland Test, Litton leveled with Mushfiqur with 15 stumpings by stumping Sri Lankan opener Lahiru Udara in the first Test in Galle last June.
Litton, however, owned the record when he effected stumping on Lorcan Tucker off Hasan Murad's delivery. He then increased his number by making Andy McBrine his victim off Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivery.
Mushfiqur, however, still holds the Bangladesh stumping record across three formats with 101 stumpings.
Mushfiqur is the fourth in the list in world cricket behind India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni (195) and Sri Lankan duo Kumar Sangakkara (139) and Ramesh Kaluwitharana (101).
Khaled Masud is second among Bangladeshi keepers with 44 stumpings. Litton is next with 34 stumpings.
The record for the most stumpings in Tests belongs to Bert Oldfield who stumped 52 times in 54 Tests for Australia between 1920 and 1937.
Litton, however, has the most dismissals in Test by a Bangladeshi wicket- keeper with 116 (99 catches and 17 stumpings).
