Furious Los Blancos fans called for the Frenchman to be sacked following Wednesday's 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
But according to Sport, Madrid will have to splash the cash if they want to end the 47-year-old's second spell in charge.
This is because Zidane agreed to a three and a half season contract when he made his return to the Bernabeu in March.
The club have vowed to pay him £11.5million per season and will have to find the funds to bring in a new manager.
In total including fees covering his dismissal and tax, the club would expect to lose £70.5million.
