Mesbah, Shirin again fastest man, woman

Mesbah Ahmed and Shirin Akhter of Bangladesh Navy remained as the fasted man and woman of the country by clinching the 100-metre sprint titles of the NRB Commercial Bank 41st National Athletics Championship that concluded at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on Sunday, reports UNB.

On completion of the meet's 33 events, Bangladesh Army clinched the top slot of the three-day meet securing 15 gold, 21 silver and 11 bronze medals while Bangladesh Navy followed them neck and neck collecting 15 gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals while Bangladesh Jail finished distant 3rd with one gold two silver and five bronze medals.

President of Bangladesh Athletics Federation ASM Ali Kabir was the chief guest at the day's closing function.
