Minhaz, Subrota maintain joint lead

International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy and FIDE Master Subrota Biswas of Titas Club maintained their joint lead in the points table with 6.5 points after the 7th round of Independence Day WALTON International Rating Chess competition held on Friday, reports BSS.
Candidate Master Md. Abzid Rahman of Sports Bangla and Siam Chowdhury of SBP-MF are jointly shared the 2nd position with six points.
Six players shared the 3rd position with 5.5 points. They are FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed and woman Candidate Master Walijah Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, Candidate Master Md. Abzid Rahman of Sports Bangla, Candidate Master Md. Abu Hanif and Candidate Master Md. Sariatullah of Sadharan Bima Corporation Sporting Club, Shahinur Haque of Dipali Memorial Chess Club, and Afzal Hossain Sachchu.

Rashedul, CM Md Sariatullah defeated CM Nasim Hossain, Shahinur Haque defeated CM Mahtabuddin, Neloy Debnath split point with Shameem and WCM Walijah beat Md. Tipu Sultan.
