Bangladesh all-rounder Mossadek Hossain said on Wednesday that he is still hoping to accomplish the dream of playing in the World Cup, reports Cricbuzz.

Mossadek was an integral part of Bangladesh team since he made debut - ODI in 2016 and Test in 2017 - but an eye infection forced him out of the side for the two-Test series against South Africa after an impressive first Test outing against Sri Lanka in Februrary 2017. Mosaddek found a place in the home Test against Sri Lanka in 2018, but couldn't impress the selectors and was dropped once again.

During this period, Mosaddek kept his ODI spot even in the Champions Trophy, but lack of performances once again led to his ouster. Even on the ODI tour of Windies and last year's Asia Cup he couldn't muster up performances, and ended up sitting out in the series against Zimbabwe, West Indies and New Zealand.

However, his name again came up for discussion after his recent performances in the Dhaka Premier League, and more so after BCB president Nazmul Hasan hinted last week that though there won't be big changes in the World Cup squad, they have discussed the possibility of picking the right-hand batsman.

"When someone keeps performing, he feels satisfied but the main satisfaction will come when my dream will come true, which is get into the WC squad," Mossadek told reporters on Wednesday. "Hopefully my dream will come true. Now my job is to focus on my performance and I'm doing that," he said.

Mosaddek admitted that it was inspiring for him to hear his name being brought up in World Cup discussions, but said he remains focussed on playing well for as long as he can before the cricket board pick the final squad.
