Bangladesh national cricket team all-rounder Nasir Hossain is likely to stay out of ground for the next six months due to his knee injury, reports UNB.

"There is no alternative to surgery as his right knee ligament was wounded," said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury on Tuesday.

"Scan report shows that his [Nasir] right knee ligament has torn. He will undergo a surgery and is likely to be out of cricket for at least six months", Chowdhury said.

Nasir suffered injury in his right knee during a practice session in Mirpur, said the 26-year-old all-rounder on Monday. Under Nasir's leadership Abahani Ltd clinched the title of the recently concluded Dhaka Premier Division League on April 5.

He was supposed to join BCB North Zone to take part in the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
