Nat'l Summer Athletics on August 30

Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) will arrange a two-day National Summer Athletics Competition at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on August 30-31, reports UNB.

BAF General Secretary Advocate Abdur Rakib Montu-led panel, which swept the Athletics Federation election on August 03, has taken charge and decided to hold their first executive committee meeting on August 24.

"The committee has already started its work," he said. "We've made several plans and decided to send six athletes to India for level-one training in October."

The federation also plans to arrange three competitions marking the birth centenary of Bangladesh's founding father.

"We plan to arrange Bangabandhu Senior Athletics Competition in November, national-level athletics completion and divisional and district marathon in 2020 marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," said Montu.
