Nat’l H’ball contest begins

The EXIM Bank 26th National Handball competition (men's) began Sunday at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city, reports BSS.

Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, MP, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.

On the first day of the fixture, Kushtia, Comilla, Faridpur, Panchagarh, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Sunamganj, Joypurhat, Gopalganj, Madaripur, Bagerhat, Jessore, Chuadanga, Meherpur and Bandarban districts won their matches after beating their respective rivals.

A total of 29 district teams from across the country, split into nine groups, are taking part in the competition, sponsored by EXIM Bank Limited and organised by BHF.
