Rain washes out NoFeL-Saif final match

The final of Walton Under-18 Football Tournament between NoFeL Sporting Club and Saif Sporting Club was called off following heavy rains on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The match was scheduled to begin at 3 pm at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur in the city.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is yet to reschedule the date, time and venue.

Group D Champions Saif SC reached the final eliminating Dhaka Abahani Limited by 5-0 goals in the 2nd semifinal at BNS in the city on September 27 while the Group D runners-up NoFel SC reached final eliminating Bashundhara Kings by 4-3 goals in tie-breaker in the 1st semifinal at the same venue on Sept 26. In their previous meet, Saif Sporting Club played 1-1 draw against NoFeL Sporting Club in the opening match of the Walton Under-18 Football Tournament at BNS in the city on September 13.

Earlier, a total of twelve Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) clubs - split into four groups - participated in the tournament.
