Rezaul takes solo lead in Rating Chess

FM Rezaul Haque of Leonine Chess Club took sole lead in the Walton Metropolis FIDE Rating Chess Tournament for below 2100 rating players securing full five points after the 5th round matches held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation in the city on Sunday, reports UNB.

Four players shared the 2nd slot with 4.5 points each.

They are: M Abzir Rahman of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society, M Matiur Rahman (Mamun) of Sonali Bank Sports and Recreation Club, Jabed Al Azad of Crescent Club and M Sariatullah of Hasan Memorial Chess Club.

In the day's 5th round matches, FM Rezaul Haque beat Anata Choudhury, Abzid Rahman drew with CM Sohel Chowdhury, Matiur Rahman Mamun beat M Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan, Abdul Momin drew with M Nurul Islam, Jabed Ali beat M Mohaimenul Islam and M Sariatullah beat Khondakar Nazre Mowla.

The 6th round matches will be held today (Monday) from 2:00 pm at same venue.
