Bangladesh clinched a thrilling victory over India, winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the nail-biting final held at the National Football Stadium in Malé, Maldives, on Friday night. In recognition of their outstanding performance, the State Minister for Youth and Sports, Md Aminul Haque, announced a special cash reward for the victorious Bangladesh youth football team, reports BSS.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has congratulated the Bangladesh U-20 football team for their victory over India in the SAFF U-20 Championship.
"Hon'ble Prime Minister Tarique Rahman extended his heartfelt congratulations to all players, coaches and officials of the Bangladesh U-20 football team on the historic victory for Bangladesh in the SAFF U-20 Championship," said Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly.

Meanwhile, Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram has congratulated the Bangladesh U-20 football team for their victory over India in the SAFF U-20 Championship.
In a felicitation message, the Speaker extended congratulations to all players, coaches and officials of the Bangladesh U-20 football team and the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) over the historic victory in the SAFF U-20 Championship.
He also hoped that such winning spree of the U-20 football team would continue in the days to come.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal and Chief Whip Nurul Islam in separate messages also congratulated the U-20 football team for their historic win.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque has extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the players, coaches and officials of the Bangladesh U-20 football team for winning the SAFF U-20 Championship title beating India by 4-3 in the final.
In a message, the State Minister said, "The indomitable spirit and skill that our young footballers have displayed is a source of great pride for the entire nation.
Winning this title by defeating India has opened a new horizon for Bangladesh football. This fighting spirit on the field makes us dream of greater success in the future."
In recognition of the players' outstanding achievements, the State Minister also announced a special cash reward for the Bangladesh team. He hoped that this patronage and encouragement from the government would inspire the young players to play better in the future.
The State Minister further said that the present government is committed to improving the quality of sports in the country and all necessary steps would be taken to bring out talented footballers from the grassroots level.
