The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included young Saif Hassan in the leadership group as he was picked as T20I vice-captain, according to Cricbuzz.
BCB confirmed a series of leadership appointments across the national men's teams, naming Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Saif Hassan as vice-captains in Test, ODI and T20I cricket respectively.
"Saif Hassan's elevation as vice-captain of the T20 team comes on the back of consistent and impressive performances in the shortest format for Bangladesh. Litton Kumer Das has been entrusted with leading the side until the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2026," BCB said in a statement.
BCB added Mehidy has been appointed vice-captain of the Bangladesh Test team where he will serve as deputy to Najmul Hossain Shanto. Shanto will continue as captain until the end of the current ICC Test Championship cycle.
Meanwhile, in the ODI format, Shanto will assume the role of vice-captain under Miraz's leadership. Miraz was confirmed as the ODI skipper for a one-year term in June this year.
Meanwhile, BCB announced that Rubaba Daula will assume the position of Chairperson of the Women's Wing. She succeeds Abdur Razzak Raz, who will continue to contribute to the department in the role of Vice Chairman.
