Shakib, Arnab, Zafar in short list for sportsman of the yr

Famed cricketer Shakib Al Hasan, promising shooter Arnab Sharar and footballer Zafar Iqbal were in the short list of the Kool-BSPA sportsman of the year 2017, reports UNB.

BSPA jury board will pick up the best sportsman of the year from three short listed players on the occasion of the Kool-BSPA sports award'2017 distribution ceremony on January 6.

They will also hand over their awards in 21 different categories of sports considering the performance of the sportsmen during the year 2017.

The detail of the programme was disclosed by BSPA president Mustafa Mamun at a press conference at the NSC conference room in the city on Monday.

BSPA general secretary Rizwan-uz-Zaman Rajib, Organising Committee chairman Hasanullah Khan Rana, Jury Board chairman Talha Bin Nazrul and Marketing Manager of Square Toiletries Fazal Mahmud Moni were also present on the occasion.

Mofizul Haque, the architect of Kalsindur school football revolution, selected for the newly introduced sports personal of grass-root level award for the year.

Besides, voting is in progress in BSPA website for the popular choice award where Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan, cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad and Zafar Iqbal is in the short list.
