Shakil finishes 32nd, Zia 34th

Bangladeshi International Master Abu Sufian Shakil finished 32nd and Grand Master Ziaur Rahman became 34th in the 11th Mumbai Mayor's Cup International Chess Tournament securing 6.5 points after the 10th and last round matches held in the Indian city Mumbai on Sunday, reports UNB.

CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh was placed 54th collecting 6 points, CM Sohel Chowdhury became 73rd, Mohammad Jamal Uddin finished 90th with 5.5 points each.

Anisuzzaman Jewel became 124th with 4.5 points, Shahnaz Mohammad Faruque 144th, Mezanur Rahman 148th and Avik Sarker 152nd with 4 points each.

In the 10th and last round matches Sunday afternoon, IM Shakil beat CM Sohel, GM Zia drew with Raja Rithvik of India, CM Chanchal defeated Navalgund Niranjan of India while Jamal beat Gokhale Rishab Chandrashekhar of India.

Grand Master Amonatov Farrukh of Tajikistan emerged champion.
