Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club finished runners-up in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 2-0 goals held at Bangladesh Army Stadium in the city on Friday, reports BSS.

Thanks to Gambian forward Solomon King Kanform, who struck twice to secure Sheikh Jamal's victory on the day after the match was locked goalless at the breather.

After the barren first half, Solomon King finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 52nd minute and he sealed the victory scoring the second goal for his team in the 89th minute of the match.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were reduced to 10 men by the referee as Uzbekistan forward Otabek Validjanov was shown a direct red card in the 90th minute for his unsporting behavior in the match. With the day's win, three times league champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club secured 52 points from 24 matches while the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan, who finished the league with a losing note, remained at their previous credit of 43 points playing the same number of outings.

Meanwhile, Chittagong Abahani Limited finished the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) campaign with a winning note as they edged past Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by a solitary goal held at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur.

In the day's match, Nigerian forward Matthew Chinedu scored the all-important goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 11th minute and they maintained the lead till the final whistle.

Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, however, tried their best to come back in the match but could not covert any goal lacks of proper finishing in the remaining proceeding.

The day's win saw, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited secured 44 points from 24 matches while Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, who finished the league campaign with a losing note, remained at their previous credit of 19 points playing the same number of outings.

In another match, Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society blanked relegated Arambagh Krira Sangha by 3-0 goals in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held on Friday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

In the day's match, Nigerian forward Felix Chidi Odili struck twice while Sahedul Hasan supported him with a lone goal after Rahmatganj led the first half by 2-0 goals.

Felix opened an account scoring the first goal for Rahmatganj in the 16th minute from a penalty while Shahedul doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Rahmatganj in the 29th minute of the match.

After the breather, Felix sealed the victory scoring his second and third goal for Rahmatganj in the 73rd minute of the match.

Rahmatganj dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Arambagh were totally off-colored.

The day's win saw, the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society finished the league campaign with 25 points from 24 matches while Arambagh KS remained at their previous credit of eight points playing the same number of matches.
