Abu Jayed Rahi, 25-year-old pace-bowler, said on Tuesday it was surprising to him to be selected in Bangladesh's World Cup squad. The right-arm pacer has never played an ODI before, reports UNB.

"It was surprising to me. I hoped I can be in the 20-member team. So, I was surprised when I heard I'm in the 15-member team," Abu Jayed told the media after the team was announced by chief selector Minhazul Abedin on Tuesday.

Abu Jayed got the national cap in 2018 with a T20 International match against Sri Lanka in his hometown of Sylhet. In the same year, he got the Test cap against West Indies. Since then, he has played five Tests and three T20 Internationals.

His main strength is his ability to swing the ball from both ends of the wicket.
