Teammate reveals how Mustafiz reacted to KKR snub

Mustafizur Rahman has been at the centre of controversy since being left out of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the IPL 2026, report agencies.

However, Mustafizur has responded in the best possible way-with his performances on the field. Representing Rangpur Riders in the BPL, he has been impressive, most notably delivering a match-winning final over against Dhaka Capitals on Sunday in Sylhet.

Riding on his spell, the Riders edged past the Capitals by five runs. After the match, Rangpur captain Nurul Hasan Sohan praised Mustafizur for his outstanding performance, adding that despite missing out on the IPL, the Satkhira-born bowler remains calm, relaxed, and focused.

"For us, Mustafiz is a world-class bowler. He has been proving that for a long time. Everyone has confidence in him. There's nothing more to say about him-everyone is always impressed," Sohan said in the post-match press conference. "To be honest, I don't follow social media that much. I don't really know very much about what's happening outside. Yeah, people were talking about it. Mustafiz might feel bad. Bangladesh. To me it seems he's calm," Sohan added.
