Tigers keen to whitewash Afghanistan today

March 05, 2022 00:00:00

Bangladesh vowed to win the two-match T20 series when they take on Afghanistan in the second match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today (Saturday), reports BSS.

The match will start at 3.00pm.

The Tigers are now with 1-0 lead in the series following their facile 61-run victory against the Afghans in the first match. A victory in the second match, will not only give them the series but also will fulfill their aspiration to whitewash Afghanistan.

Bangladesh earlier won the ODI series but unfortunately they lost the third match by seven wickets.

A T20 whitewash would help Tigers take a revenge of being swept by Afghanistan in three-match T20 series in Hyderabad in India in 2018.

A victory will moreover see Bangladesh level in terms of win-loss ratio in the encounters between two teams. The two teams so far played seven matches of which Afghanistan won four and Bangladesh won three.

Bangladesh's spin coach Rangana Herath on Friday said, "This is a two-match series. If we want to win the series, we need to win the next game. I don't think we're resting anybody and will be going with our best eleven."
