Tigers to play group matches of Asia Cup in Abu Dhabi

All matches will begin at 8:00pm BST, except for two games

Bangladesh are set to play their all group matches of the Asia Cup at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed on Sunday, report agencies.

The regional tournament kicks off on September 09 in two venues of United Arab Emirates (UAE). The ACC has already confirmed venues and timings through their website.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai is the other venue for the tournament which will be held in T20 format, instead of traditional 50-over format, keeping the T20 World Cup next year in mind. Bangladesh is drawn in Group B alongside Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The Tigers will kick off their campaign on September 11 with the match against Hong Kong. They will face Sri Lanka on September 13 and will take on Afghanistan in their final Group B match on September 16.

Archrivals India, Pakistan are in the Group A along with Oman and hosts UAE. They Group A teams will play their all matches in Dubai.

All matches will begin at 8:00pm Bangladesh time, except for two games on 15 September, when UAE will face Oman at 6:00pm in Abu Dhabi, and Sri Lanka will play against Hong Kong at 8:00pm in Dubai.

The top two teams from each group will move to the Super Four stage, where each team will face the others once. The top two from this round will advance to the final on September 28. Dubai will host most of the tournament, including the final 11 matches in total. Abu Dhabi will host 8 matches, including one in the Super Four phase.

India's league matches are scheduled for September 10 (vs UAE), September 14 (vs Pakistan), and September 19 (vs Oman). Assuming India and Pakistan finish as the top two teams in their group, they will face off again in the Super 4 stage on September 21. The dates of India's remaining Super 4 matches will depend on their position in the league standings. Announcing the venues and timings, ACC president Mohsin Naqvi said, "ACC T20 Asia Cup venues and match

timings are out! Looking forward to packed stadiums and some truly breath-taking encounters." The ACC said in a statement, "With top Asian cricketing nations set to battle it out in one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, the announcement marks a major step forward in the tournament's preparations.
