U-18 Nat’l cricket Tournament's divisional round begins in Magura

MAGURA, Dec 22 (BSS): The divisional round of the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Tournament was inaugurated on Monday morning at the Magura District Stadium.

The tournament is being organised by the Magura District Sports Association with the patronage of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The inauguration ceremony was formally opened by the Deputy Commissioner of Magura Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, who attended the event as the chief guest with District Sports Officer and also Member Secretary of the District Sports Association BM Sajin Israt in the chair.

Leaders of the District Sports Association, players, guardians, and various sports-related personalities were also present on the occasion.

The divisional round of the tournament, which began on Monday, features participation from the Under-18 cricket teamsof Khulna, Chuadanga, and Meherpur districts. In the tournament, each district will play two matches against the others.

All matches will be played in the 50-over format.

On the opening day, a match was held between Khulna and Chuadanga district teams while Chuadanga district team will face Meherpur district team today (Tuesday).

The organisers expressed optimism that the tournament will help identify talented cricketers and contribute to the development of skilled players for the future of national cricket.
