U-18 South Asian basketball qualifiers begin today

The South Asian Qualifiers of the Dhaka Bank FIBA U-18 (Boys) Asian Basketball Championship begins today (Monday) at the Dhanmondi wooden floor gymnasium in the city, reports UNB.

On the opening day, India will play Sri Lanka at 2:00 pm while hosts Bangladesh will encounter the Maldives at 4:00 pm.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will inaugurate the meet in the afternoon while Managing Director and CEO of meet's sponsor Dhaka Bank Limited Syed Mahbubur Rahman will be a special guest on the occasion.

Five South Asian countries-India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and hosts Bangladesh-will participate in the meet.
