Vasavi Metropolis School Kabaddi begins in city today

The Vasavi Dhaka Metropolis School Kabaddi (Boys and Girls) under the auspices of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation begins today (Wednesday) at five venues in the capital to hunt talented players from the grassroots level, reports UNB.
A total of 115 metropolis school teams, including 63 boys' and 52 girls' ones, split into eight zones, will take part in the five-day meet sponsored by Vasani Fashions Limited.
Some 1,725 players, including 780 girls, will compete in five venues -- Motijheel Govt Boys High School ground, Mohammadpur Govt Boys High School ground, Mirpur-14 Police Lines ground, Uttara APBN ground and Kabaddi Stadium.
After the tournament, the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation will form one boys' team and one girls' team with the talented players of the tournament for participating in the KIDS Kabaddi Tournament in India.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) and DIG (Administration & Discipline) of Bangladesh Police Habibur Rahman disclosed the details of the tournament at a press conference at the conference room of the Police Headquarters in the city on Tuesday.
BKF Joint Secretary and Additional DIG (Development) Gazi Mohammad Mozammel Haque and Chairman of Vasani Fashions Ltd Yesar Ahmed Khan Tamim also spoke on the occasion.
