Willes Little Flower make a good start

Mohammed Ehsan Habib, Company Secretary of Prime Bank, inaugurating the Prime Bank Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament of the Dhaka Metro area at the field of Zahurul Haq Hall of Dhaka University on Sunday. Md Moniruzzaman, Head of C&PARD, Noor Hossain Zakaria, Head of Marketing of Prime Bank, Abu Emam Mohammed Kawsar, Manager, Game Development, Bangladesh Cricket Board, were also present on the occasion. Prime Bank has been sponsoring the tournament for the last six years (2016-2021).
Former national champions Willes Little Flower School made a good start in the Dhaka Metro Phase of the Prime Bank National School Cricket Championship beating Ali Ahmed School and College by six wickets in the opening match on the Jahurul Haque Hall ground of Dhaka University on Sunday, reports UNB.
Batting first, Ali Ahmed School and College were all out for 193 runs in 39 overs featuring 81 runs by Faiz Ahmed and 25 runs by Shakib Hasan Robi.
Ashiqur Rahman, Mehedi Hossain Prince and Kaikobad Mijal claimed two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 194 runs, Khaled Mahmud Sujon and Mehrab Hossain Opee's Willes Little Flower High School scored the match-winner losing only four wickets with 16 overs to spare.
Afnan Islam contributed 87 runs and Arafat Hossain 39 runs for the winners.
Earlier, Senior Executive Vice-President and Company Secretary of the meet's sponsor Prime Bank Mohammad Ehsan Habib inaugurated the tournament.
