Women's Squash League begins

The 3rd Bangladesh Women's Squash League began at Army Officers Mess of cantonment in the capital on Friday, reports BSS.

Bangladesh Squash Federation general secretary GM Kamrul Islam formally opened the meet as the chief guest.

The four group finals of the knockout tournament will be held today (Saturday) at the same venue with Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan director general Brigadier General Md Munirul Islam is expected to present in the finals as the chief guest and distribute the prizes.

Thirty women players from nine clubs/organisations participated in meet split into four groups. The four groups are Open, Elite, Plate Open and Plate Elite.

The nine clubs are Army, AUB, BAF Shaheen School, Bhashantech School, Kalshi School, Kalachandpur School, Comilla Residential School, Mirpur Ideal School and Postgola Rearview School.

Bangladesh Squash Federation organized the competition to assess the quality of preparation of women squash players so that the federation can send women's squash teams in international competitions in future.
