Young Tigers can reach quarters early

January 15, 2018 00:00:00

Bangladesh will take on Canada in their Group C match of the 16-team ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln, New Zealand today (Monday), reports UNB.

Saif Hassan-led Bangladesh started the tournament campaign crushing Namibia by 87 runs in their rain-marred match on Saturday (January 13), while Canada will be seen desperate in action in the 8th match of the tournament to make a winning start.

With the tournament only into its third day, Bangladesh have a chance to become the first team to book a berth in the knockouts with the victory over Canada; if they do so, and England fail to beat Namibia, they'll be sure of a top-two finish in Group C.
