Young Tigers suffer defeat in Australia

August 31, 2025 00:00:00

The Bangladesh A team, formed with six Test players, tasted an innings and 12 runs defeat to South Australia inside three days in the solitary four-day game of the tour at DXC Arena, Darwin on Saturday, reports BSS.

With the defeat, they wrapped up a disappointing Australia tour, having earlier failed to overcome the group stage in Top End T20 series.

Resuming the day 3 at 106-3 and still needing 160 runs to make South Australia batting for the second time, Bangladesh A eventually were bowled out for 254 in their second innings.

Bangladesh A were bundled out for 114 in the first innings and conceded 266-run lead when South Australia replied with 380 all out, thanks to Jason Sangha's 143-run knock.

Like the first innings, Bangladesh A made a horrendous start in the second innings, being reduced to 6-2 inside three overs before Shahadat Hossain Dipu resisted to give the side a hope of avoiding an innings defeat at least.
