Zia shares 3rd slot in Kolkata Open GM Chess

Bangladeshi Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman shared the 3rd slot with 14 other players in the 3rd Kolkata International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament- 2018 after the 7th round matches in Kolkata on Sunday, reports UNB.

He secured five points. Fide Master Khondakar Aminul Islam followed Zia bagging 4.5 points.

Three Bangladeshi players --IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman--collected four points each while three other players--IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag collected three points each.

CM SM Sharon, CM Sohel Chowdhury and Anisuzzaman Jewel earned 2.5 points each.
