AAAB hosts workshop on financial management for ad agencies

A workshop titled 'The VAT and Tax Playbook: Financial Management for Agencies' was held at Banani Club in Dhaka recently, aiming to raise awareness and address complexities surrounding financial management and taxation in Bangladesh's advertising industry.
Organised by the Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB), the event saw participation from executives in finance and accounts departments of over 50 prominent advertising agencies, says a statement.
The workshop began with a speech by Syed Ahsanul Apon, General Secretary of AAAB's Executive Committee.
M.A. Maruf, Joint Secretary of AAAB, and Sarah Ali, Treasurer of AAAB, were present at the workshop.
The workshop included comprehensive discussions on taxation obligations within the advertising industry.
Achinta Kumar Das, Group Senior Manager for Tax & VAT at ASIATIC360, addressed key topics such as Advance Income Tax (AIT), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), overseas tax payments, mandatory tax returns, and recent amendments in tax regulations.
Faisal Islam, Head of Finance at Dot Birth Limited, and Md. Ramzan Ali ACMA, Deputy General Manager of Accounts & Legal Affairs at FCB BITOPI, also provided valuable insights.
The workshop provided participants with a clearer understanding of VAT and taxation-related regulations.
