ACC to sue former Robi official for 'acquiring' illegal assets

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file a case against Md Rakibul Hasan, a former official of Robi Axiata Limited, on charges of acquiring illegal wealth and hiding information about his assets.

ACC Deputy Director Md. Akhtarul Islam on Thursday confirmed that charge-sheet has been framed against him under sections 26(2) and 27(1) of the ACC Act 2004.

According to the ACC report, Rakibul Hasan submitted his wealth statement in September 2021.

During verification, it was found that he hid assets worth Tk 3,359,121 and provided false and baseless information.

An initial investigation also revealed that he illegally acquired assets

amounting to Tk 32.35 million.
