The global accounting body- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) hosted an ACCA Symposium - A Thought Leadership Session on BPO, GTT & Sustainability on Saturday, says a press release.
The full-day event brought together approximately 200 senior officials, ACCA members, industry thought leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in accounting and finance, Global Talent Trends (GTT), and Sustainability Reporting-three key areas shaping the profession's evolution.

The symposium featured a series of insightful discussions, keynote presentations, and engaging panel sessions, providing attendees with valuable perspectives on emerging trends and opportunities.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Prawma Tapashi Khan, Country Manager, ACCA Bangladesh, who set the stage by emphasising ACCA's commitment to driving thought leadership and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders.
The first session explored the immense potential of Bangladesh's BPO sector in the global accounting and finance industry. Key speakers included Md Ariful Hoque, Director General, Strategic Investment Wing, BIDA; and Tanvir Ibrahim, President, BACCO.
The keynote presentation and panel discussion, moderated by Gazi Jishan, CIA, CRMA, Co-Founder of Qormotho, addressed critical growth areas and strategies to position Bangladesh as a global BPO hub.
Among the panelists -Ahmad Ata Hamid, ACCA Co-founder & CFO, Qormotho, Raihan Safa, Director - Global Operational Accounting - Optimizely, Mujibur Rahman ACCA Founder & CEO, MR Accountants, Mohammad Aminul Hoque, Finance Secretary, BACCO and MA Kalam, Chairman of LCBS were present.
The second session focused on workforce transformation and talent development.
Key speakers included Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, President, ICMAB; Nanda Dulal Saha (ICAB), ACA (ICAEW), Vice President, IIAB; and Asif Khan, President, Society Bangladesh. Shams Zaman, Country Managing Partner, PwC Bangladesh, delivered the keynote presentation, followed by an in-depth panel discussion moderated by Prawma Tapashi Khan.
Among the panelists - Dr Kazi Iqbal - Research Director, BIDS, Mr Jakir Hossain FCCA Group CFO - Asiatic 360, Mr Najmus Ahmed Albab - Executive Director, Valor of Bangladesh, and Mr M. Zulfiquar Hussain, CEO & Lead Consultant, Grow N Excel were present.
