All urged to work for keeping commodity prices under control

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman urged all concerned on Wednesday to work sincerely for keeping the prices of commodities under control in the country, reports BSS.

Mahbubur made the call while exchanging views with the officials of the Ministry of Commerce and the chiefs of the various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Commerce held at the Ministry Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.

Putting emphasis on properly implementing the programmes undertaken by the government to keep the consumers at ease and comfort during the ensuing Holy Month of Ramadan, he said, "Keeping prices of commodities under control is our priority programme".

He also asked the officials concerned to strengthen the operations of the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

This was the first official meeting of the new Commerce Secretary with the staffers of the ministry and its subordinate bodies after joining office.
