Former governor of Bangladesh Bank Shegufta Bakht Chaudhuri passed away at a city hospital on Wednesday. He was 86. The Bangladesh Bank and country's banks have condoled the death of the senior central banker and expressed profound shock at the death. A former chairman of National Board of Revenue, S B Chaudhury had been suffering from old-age complications, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh Bank. He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of admirers and well-wishers. Chaudhuri was the fourth governor of Bangladesh Bank, between 1987 and 1992. He hails from Hobiganj of greater Sylhet.
