BGFCL holds 70th AGM

The 70th annual general meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL), the largest state-owned natural gas producing company, was held at the Petrobangla in Dhaka on Wednesday. Chairman of BGFCL Mohammad Mohsin presided over the meeting.
Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL), the largest state-owned natural gas producing company, held its 70th annual general meeting (AGM) at Petrobangla in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammad Mohsin, Chairman of the BGFCL Board. Md Rezanur Rahman, Chairman of Petrobangla, along with Executive Directors and Secretary of Petrobangla, BGFCL's Board of Directors, and its managing director and general managers attended the meeting, says a press release.
In the fiscal year 2024-25, BGFCL demonstrated strong operational performance, producing an average of 513 million cubic feet of gas per day from 38 wells across five gas fields.
A total of 5,299.63 million standard cubic metres (MMSCM) of gas was supplied to five distribution companies: TGTDPLC, BGDCL, JGTDSL, PGCL and SGCL.
In addition to natural gas, BGFCL sold 231.47 lakh litres of condensate, produced as a by-product, to Super Petrochemical Limited, a private company. The company also handled and supplied 111.37 lakh litres of condensate, which were received from BAPEX and KrisEnergy Bangladesh Limited (Bangura Field), to Super Petrochemical as per government allocation.
Currently, BGFCL produces approximately 486 million cubic feet of gas per day, accounting for 27% of the country's total gas production and 67% of the output from state-owned companies. BGFCL reported a pre-tax profit of Tk 1551.6 million for FY 2024-25. The company paid Tk 10.83 billion to the national exchequer through VAT, income tax, dividends and DSL. An interim dividend of Tk 100 million was disbursed in FY 2024-25. The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 0.74.
