BRAC Bank 1st to bring agent banking outlets under insurance

Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank, and Syed Sehab Ullah Al-Manjur, chief executive officer of Pragati Insurance Limited, formalise an agreement to bring agent banking network under insurance coverage. BRAC Bank's Nazmur Rahim, deputy managing director and head of alternate banking channels; Md. Nazmul Hasan, head of agent banking; Md. Abu Taher Mridha, head of account services; and all regional coordinators of the agent banking department; Amar Krishna Shil (FCA), AMD and chief financial officer, Pragati Insurance; and Sharif Mustaba, deputy managing director, Pragati Insurance; attended, the event among others.

BRAC Bank has partnered with Pragati Insurance Limited to bring its entire agent banking network under insurance coverage, according to a press release.

All BRAC Bank agent banking outlets will now be secured through 'Cash-in-Safe' and 'Cash-in-Transit' insurance. With this initiative, BRAC Bank becomes the first bank in Bangladesh to implement such comprehensive protection, in line with the directive of the Bangladesh Bank.

The comprehensive insurance coverage further strengthens financial security, instils greater trust and confidence in customers, and reaffirms BRAC Bank's commitment to safe and inclusive banking for communities across the country.

This safeguarding initiative reassures valued customers that their deposits are in safe hands and that they can place their full trust in BRAC Bank.

Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony which took place at BRAC Bank's head office in Dhaka on August 28.

As a frontrunner of inclusive banking, BRAC Bank runs a rapidly growing network of 1,121 agent banking outlets across the country taking formal banking to the doorsteps of unbanked and underbanked communities in remote areas.
