BRAC Bank, in collaboration with Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), organised a three-day training programme in Narsingdi for 30 women entrepreneurs, according to a press statement.
The programme offered intensive mentorship, training and networking to help participants scale up their ventures, reach wider markets, and inspire other women to pursue entrepreneurship.
An initiative supported by the Gates Foundation, the programme strengthens business acumen and fosters long-term empowerment through access to finance, mentorship and market linkages. It equips the participants with the digital skills needed to accelerate business growth.
BdOSN experts also guided participants in digital strategies to tap fast-growing platforms such as e-commerce, social media commerce, and other emerging channels.
Organised under Amrai TARA, BRAC Bank's flagship women-entrepreneurship, programme, the training was held at the Cooperative Zonal Institute from September 9 to 11.
Distinguished guests included Munir Hasan, president of BdOSN, and Kazi Dilruba Akter, head of Cottage and Micro Business, SME banking, BRAC Bank.
Syed Abdul Momen, additional managing director and head of SME banking at BRAC Bank, said, "Women entrepreneurs are powerful drivers of inclusive economic growth. Through Amrai TARA, we are equipping them with both the financial tools and the digital know-how to thrive in a rapidly changing marketplace. When these women succeed, communities prosper and the national economy gains strength."
So far, BRAC Bank has provided skill development training to over 3,000 women entrepreneurs across 20 districts and aims to expand this.
