A two-day exposition, 'TARA Uddokta Mela 2025' commenced on Sunday at the Aloki Convention Center on Gulshan-Tejgaon Link Road in the capital, ahead of Eid.
The exhibition was open to the public from 12:00 noon to 11:00pm on the opening day and will remain open from 10:00am to 11:00pm on Monday.
BRAC Bank is hosting the fair to support women entrepreneurs by providing free stalls to promote their locally made products.
A total of 85 women entrepreneurs from across the country are showcasing a diverse range of products, including boutique items, hand-stitched clothing, handmade crafts, clay and jute products, processed leather goods, Jamdani and Muslin attire, food items, organic skincare products and bamboo and rattan crafts.
Following the success of previous editions, the bank is organising the fair for the third time.
Nazma Mobarek, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, inaugurated the fair as chief guest. BRAC Bank's Chairperson Meheriar M Hasan and Managing Director and CEO Selim R. F. Hussain were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
BRAC Bank is also providing technological support to enable digital transactions, including QR code-based payments, to integrate women entrepreneurs into a digital ecosystem. Customers purchasing products at the fair via QR payments can avail of discounts of up to 20 per cent.
