BSTI inks MoU with Russian standards organisation

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), the national standards development and control organisation of Bangladesh, inked on Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Russian standards organisation Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology (GOST R).

BSTI Director General (Grade-1) SM Ferdous Alam and GOSTR CEO Anton Shalaev inked the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at a function at the BSTI head office in the city, reports BSS.

The MoU was signed with the priority of cooperation between the two countries in the development of national standards.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Maksura Nur, ndc, was present as the chief guest at the MoU signing ceremony while Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Dhaka Ekaterina Semenova, Director General of the Eastern Europe and CIS Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Md Mosharraf Hossain, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Hafizur Rahman and senior officials of the Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Embassy and BSTI were present on the occasion.
