March 05, 2019 00:00:00

A three-member UAE-based business delegation on Monday called on Mr Salman Fazlur Rahman MP, the Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser, said a statement.

The delegation led by Mr Waleid Bin Abdulkareim, CEO of OnTime Group, informed the Adviser that the company was granted permission by the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to launch a 'business hub' for potential UAE-based investors and entrepreneurs, who intend to do business in Bangladesh.

In coordination with the Embassy of the UAE in Dhaka, the hub will be an information dissemination point to help the investors and business people. It also seeks to help and guide Bangladeshi businessmen who want to invest or set up businesses in the UAE. The delegation sought the Adviser's help in this regard. The UAE-based delegation also included Ms Yasmine Khan, LLM, an international litigation and arbitration expert.

Mr Salman Fazlur Rahman appreciated the effort being undertaken by Mr Waleid Bin Abdulkareim. He assured the delegation that he would wholeheartedly support any initiative that is intended to ease the process of doing business and facilitate investment in Bangladesh. He expressed optimism that the endeavour would motivate UAE businessmen to invest in Bangladesh's booming economy and encourage others to follow suit.
