Ctg ready to host BITEF 2019

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 20: The Bangladesh International Trade and Export Fair (BITEF) 2019, organised by Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI), will kick off here on October 27.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will inaugurate the sixth edition of the trade and export exposition as the chief guest at 11:00am on Sunday next at the Outer Stadium.

The CMCCI is going to arrange the fair for the sixth time in the port city with this year's show.

The maiden BITEF was held in the post city in 2014. Later, the venue was shifted to Halishahar and last year, the BITEF was held on the bank of Karnaphuli River. Outer Stadium, in the centre of the city, has been selected to host the event this year.

The leaders of the CMCCI said preparation is going on in full swing for inauguration of the event on Oct 27. There will be more than 200 stalls and four mega pavilions at the 6th BITEF, they informed.

CMCCI Vice President A M Mahabub Chowdhury said they have shifted the venue of the fair this year for the convenience of participants and buyers.

"As Outer Stadium is in the centre of the city, people can reach the venue easily. So, we are arranging the 6th BITEF at the Outer Stadium in the current year," he added.
