Dr Haider Ali re-appointed EXIM Bank MD

Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited re-appointed Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah as the Managing Director, effective from today. He has been performing this duty since 2012, said a statement.

Dr Haider started off his banking career in 1984 as a probationary officer. Afterwards, he joined EXIM Bank in 2000 as Vice President. Subsequently, he acted as Branch Manager and Head of different Divisions in the Head Office. He was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2008 and Additional Managing Director in 2011. He was appointed as Managing Director of the bank on July 25, 2012.

As a successful managing director, Dr Haider has been awarded nationally and internationally. The US-based World Confederation of Business declared him 'world-leading business personality' in 2015. He also received the 'Gamechanger of the Year-2015' from the UK-based ACQ-Five. He was awarded the 'Best Quality Leadership Award' from CMO Asia, Singapore and the 'Most Talented Islamic Banking Professional (CEO)' by the European Society for Quality Research in Switzerland. He wrote several books on Islamic Banking and economics.

Dr Haider also achieved the Islamic Banking Medal from the Central Shariah Board, the 'Best MD in Bank-2014' award from Biswabidlaya Parikrama, the Mother Teresa Gold Medal and Swadhinata Sangshad Gold Medal.
