Under the project "Drilling of 2 Appraisal-cum-Development Wells (Sundalpur-4 and Srikail-5) and 2 Exploration Wells (Sundalpur South-1 and Jamalpur-1)," the drilling of the Srikail-5 Appraisal-cum-Development Well was formally inaugurated on Sunday by Managing Director of BAPEX Engineer Md Fazlul Haque. Under the project "Drilling of 2 Appraisal-cum-Development Wells (Sundalpur-4 and Srikail-5) and 2 Exploration Wells (Sundalpur South-1 and Jamalpur-1)," the drilling of the Srikail-5 Appraisal-cum-Development Well was formally inaugurated on Sunday by Managing Director of BAPEX Engineer Md. Fazlul Haque, says a press release.
The event was attended by the General Manager of BAPEX's Drilling and Engineering Division along with senior officials from other relevant divisions.
The Srikail-5 well, located at Srikail in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla District under Block-9, is targeted to reach a depth of 3,450 metres (±50m). The well is estimated to contain an Initial Gas-in-Place (GIIP) of 62.87 BCF, with a recoverable reserve of 50.30 BCF. The drilling operation of the well is being conducted entirely with BAPEX's own rig and manpower.
