DSE elects Minhaz as shareholder director

Minhaz Mannan Emon, managing director of BLI Securities, was elected as a shareholder-director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday. Mr. Emon bagged 366.68 million votes (200 ballots cast out of 256 and each ballots equivalent to 2,886,042 votes) during the bourse's election, while opponent Ahmed Iqbal Hasan, the former president of the DSE and chief executive officer of Ahmed Iqbal Hasan Securities Ltd, received 201.02 million votes. Justice Md Abdus Samad, a retired High Court judge and chairman of premier bourse's election commission, announced the results after the polls, which took place from 10:30am till 4:00pm on the premises of the premier bourse in Motijheel. — FE Report
