DU wins CFA Institute research challenge

A team from the Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University (DU), won the final round in Bangladesh of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024-25, according to a statement.
The competition was held in Dhaka recently. The DU team advanced to the sub-regional round this month, where they will compete virtually against other top teams from South Asia.
Bangladesh University of Professionals secured the 1st runner-up position, while North South University the 2nd runner-up position.
The champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up teams will together receive Tk 500,000 as prize money for the local level of the competition.
Every year, more than 5,000 students from 900 universities across 91 countries participate in the prestigious event.
The winning team conducted an in-depth analysis of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd., presenting buy/sell/hold recommendations. Their presentation at the local final was the culmination of months of research and interviews with company management, competitors, and clients.
