EBL holds AML & CFT workshop in Chattogram

Eastern Bank, as the lead bank, organised a comprehensive training workshop on AML and CFT for representatives of all scheduled commercial banks operating in Chattogram at The Peninsula Chittagong hotel on Saturday. From BFIU, Md. Mostakur Rahman, director; Sajjad Hossain, additional director; Imran Shah Omar Chowdhury, and Md. Tarikul Islam, deputy directors; participated. From EBL, Mahmoodun Nabi Chowdhury, DMD and CAMLCO; Md. Shahjahan Ali, deputy CAMLCO; Md. Abdul Awal, head of Monitoring; Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Branch Area head, Chattogram, joined the event.
Eastern Bank, as the lead bank for Chattogram district, organised a comprehensive training workshop on anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) for representatives of all scheduled commercial banks operating in the district, according to a press release.
With an objective to enhance professional skill and regulatory compliance in the banking sector, the day-long programme was held at The Peninsula Chittagong hotel.
Md. Mostakur Rahman, director of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), attended the programme as the chief guest. He commended EBL's proactive initiative in creating a shared learning platform to enhance AML and CFT compliance frameworks across banks in Chattogram.
Expert resource persons from BFIU conducted insightful sessions throughout the workshop.
