EBL partners with Danish Embassy to recognise local climate actions

EBL, DANISH EMBASSY TO PROMOTE CLIMATE ACTIONS: The Embassy of Denmark in Dhaka will collaborate with Eastern Bank to achieve the common goal of promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation in Bangladesh. A joint 'Declaration of Intent' was signed by Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Christian Brix Møller and EBL's Additional Managing Director Ahmed Shaheen at the Embassy of Denmark in the capital on Thursday.
The Embassy of Denmark in Dhaka has signed a contract with Eastern Bank to acknowledge climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts.
A joint 'Declaration of Intent' was signed by Danish Ambassador H.E. Christian Brix Møller and Eastern Bank's Additional Managing Director Ahmed Shaheen at the embassy in the capital to give 'EBL Climate Change Action Award' in recognition of climate actions.
The winners of the award, which will cover a wide range of themes involving Bangladesh's climate challenges, will be selected by a panel of judges.
The panel will comprise experts from academia, civil society, media, and international partners, such as the embassies of the United States, Germany, and Denmark in Dhaka.
EBL Climate Change Action Award will be given annually with the aim of recognising and celebrating the
best practices by local
corporations, manufacturing companies, NGOs, and
climate activists, especially of those who have
demonstrated excellence
and leadership in
implementing climate
projects and initiatives.
The nomination process for the award will be announced soon through newspaper, electronic media, the Eastern Bank website and social media platforms.
