Golden Son gets back bond facility

FE Report | April 25, 2018 00:00:00

The bonded warehouse licence of Golden Son Limited has been temporarily restored, following an interim order of Customs Excise and Vat Appellate Tribunal.

Earlier, Customs Bond Commissionerate imposed a penalty of above Tk 2.7 million and cancelled the bonded warehouse licence of the company.

The actions were taken due to 'illegal' transfer of products from duty-free imported raw materials from the bonded warehouse under bond facility and illegally selling those products in the open market.

Later, following the writ petitions, the High Court (HC) said the petitioner would be entitled to prefer an appeal before the concerned tribunal within a period of 90 days.

"The petitioner will also be entitled to conduct his business during the aforesaid period of 90 days, in accordance with law," the HC order said.

Later, based on the order of the HC, Golden Son had filed an appeal with the Customs Excise and Vat Appellate Tribunal, Dhaka.
