Mohammad Refaul Karim Chowdhury FCA has been elected as Chairman and Mahmudur Rahman FCA as Secretary of Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), with effect from January 1, 2025.
They were elected at a meeting of the committee on December 31, 2024, says a statement.
Refaul Karim Chowdhury, who hails from Chittagong, is a Fellow Member of ICAB, IFA (UK), and IPA (Australia). A qualified Chartered Accountant since 2011, he is also a VAT Consultant, Microsoft Certified Trainer, and Certified Financial Modeler & Valuation Analyst.
Currently serving as DGM-Finance at Transcom Distribution Company Ltd, Mr Chowdhury has held roles across various industries, including telecommunication, ITES, RMG, real estate, and autonomous bodies.
He has expertise in company affairs, secretarial work, IPO preparation, tax planning, financial modeling, business intelligence, and the integration and implementation of ERP systems.
Mahmudur Rahman is currently serving as Director (Assurance & Advisory) at ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants.
Mr Rahman qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012. He was an articled student of ACNABIN Chartered Accountants.
Currently he is a member of DRC-ICAB and a few other committees. He is also serving as a resource person in the ICAB Academic Campus, other professional institutions and universities.
Mr. Rahman completed his MBA and BBA with major in accounting and information system from the University of Dhaka. He also completed ACMA from UK.
He is the Treasure of the Accounting Alumni, University of Dhaka.
