The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) organised a webinar on 'Evolving Role of Accountants in AML Compliance' on Monday.
A. F. M. Shahinul Islam, Head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Bangladesh Bank, joined the webinar as the chief guest while Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Council Member & Past President, ICAB, moderated the programme as the session chairman. ICAB President Maria Howlader delivered an address of welcome, says a statement.
Scott Hanson, Director, Policy & Global Engagement, International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) presented the keynote paper and the panel discussants were Md Manirul Islam, Deputy Director, Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Bangladesh Bank, and Md. Shahadat Hossain, Council Member & Past President ICAB.
ICAB CEO Shubhashish Bose made an opening remarks while Md. Johirul Islam, Vice President of ICAB, delivered the closing remarks.
The keynote paper presenter discussed anti-money laundering (AML) & the Accountancy Profession in country context, the Global AML Framework and current scenario in Bangladesh and globally.
